CAYMUN II.V 2017
On ??????, CIS hosted CAY-MUN II.V which was a half-day Model United Nations conference. Two committees were formed in this conference, the General Assembly and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa. The General Assembly tackled the issue of eliminating gender disparities in education and UNECA tackled the topic of providing decent work for men and women to stimulate economic growth. Over 50 Students from CIS, St. Ignatius, CCC, and our co-host, Cayman Prep, participated in the conference. Below is the background information for both topics:
CAYMUN II 2016
On November 18, 2016, CIS hosted CAY-MUN II which is the second annual Model United Nations conference. Two committees were formed in this conference, the General Assembly and the World Health Organization. The General Assembly tackled two issues: quality educations for all and reduce inequalities throughout the world. The WHO tackled the two topics of: end world hunger and tackling neglected tropical diseases. 50 Students from CIS, St. Ignatius and CCC participated in the conference. CAY-MUN 2015
In 2015, CIS hosted the first CAY-MUN conference, there were a total of 40 delegates from the Cayman International School, St. Ignatius School and Triple C schools. All delegates were apart of the European Union where the main topic of discussion was the refugee crisis which was being caused by the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East. Each country had a chance to voice there opinion based on the country they were allocated. By the end of the day, a resolution paper was drafted and voted on.
